ABOUT SAM

Hello Everyone,

I have been a private tutor for the past decade and in recent years have expanded to test preparation and college application assistance in order to help my clients pursue higher education. I attended both the University of California, San Diego and Merced where I studied Human Biology and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Science in Biopsychology. I am currently a graduate student at the California State University East Bay's Pre-Professional Health Academic Program and next year I will be applying to medical school in pursuit of a career as an Emergency Physician.

I have used my love of teaching to create learning environments catered to each student's individual needs to optimize their knowledge intake. I am genuinely a tutor that wants to see every single one of my students succeed and a tutor that enjoys mentoring their educational journey beyond just the academic material.

Tutoring By Sam purposely utilizes recent college graduates and current graduate students in order to provide tutors that are as in-touch with current school systems as possible. Our team is comprised of extremely capable tutors with a variety of skill sets and years of teaching experience.

Meet Sam

During her undergraduate career, Sam worked as a high school/college tutor and as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree she worked at a variety of private medical practices as a phlebotomist, medical/surgical assistant, and ophthalmic technician while concurrently applying to graduate school and building what is now known as Tutoring By Sam. While her personal goals are geared toward a career in medicine, Sam founded TBS out of her love of teaching and mentorship. She firmly believes that one of the most important roles of a tutor is their ability to connect with the student -- a concept that has become the cornerstone of Tutoring By Sam.
